Ciò che caratterizza il pensiero cinese antico collegato con la medicina tradizionale cinese e l’ Agopuntura  è il profondo rispetto verso la funzione simbolica del numero.

Nella numerologia così intesa sono normalmente usate tre serie di numeri: la serie DENARIA, la serie DUODENARIA, la serie DECIMALE.

Il valore figurativo del simbolo è appannaggio solo delle prime due serie.

Il CICLO DUODENARIO (classificazione per 6= 3 x 2) ha segni disposti  uno ad uno lungo la circonferenza di un cerchio che simboleggia il Cielo a sua volta in rapporto analogico con il Maschio, lo Yang, il numero 3, il Dispari, il Tempo.

Il CICLO DENARIO, invece, (classificazione x 5= 2+2+1) li raggruppa in cinque binomi di cui quattro segnano la punta di una croce e il quarto, centrale, è il simbolo della Terra, in analogia alla Femmina, allo Yin, al numero 2, al Pari, allo Spazio.

La importanza di questa concezione è evidente per la comprensione della Teoria dei 5 elementi (che abbiamo già trattato), delle 6 Energie e per la disposizione dei Trigrammi e la costruzione del simbolo TAI JI.

What makes the Ancient Chinese Thought peculiar, together with Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture, is the strong respect toward the simbolic function of The Number.

Numerology normally uses three different groups of numbers: DENARIA, DUODENARIA, DECIMALE. The value of the symbol is very important in the first two groups.

The DUODENARIO CYCLE (classified 6=3x2) has different symbols placed around a circle representing the sky. The sky is associated with The Male, the Yang the number 3, the Odd and the Time.

The DENARIO CYCLE (classified x5=2+2+1) has 5 pairs of symbols, of which  four mark the tip of a cross, and the last one, placed in the middle represent the Earth, the Female, the Yin, the number 2, the even and the Space.

The importance of this though is essential to understand the Theory of 5 Elements, the Theory of 6 Energies, the Disposition of the Trigrams, and the construction of the TAI JI symbol.
